The SITRANS FUT 1010 liquid and gas flow meter from Siemens is designed to suit diverse applications across the liquid and gas hydrocarbon industries. Apart from a number of innovative operational and cost-related benefits it offers many advantages over traditional inline meters when it comes to flow measurement precision and custody transfer solutions.
The FUT 1010 uses innovative Widebeam transit time technology, which increases flow measurement precision by reducing the sensitivity to changes in the medium’s physical properties. The resonant frequency of the pipe wall is used to transmit the beam into the media with the wall acting as a waveguide. As a result of this technology, a strong coherent signal is generated on which the FUT 1010’s high accuracy and range ability is based. The Sitrans FUT 1010 has developed a unique TransLoc mounting system, Widebeam sensors are permanently mounted on the outside of the pipe. It provides custody transfer accuracy while eliminating any contact with the medium. Use of such non-intrusive ultrasonic transducers not only protects them from harsh operating environments, but it also significantly reduces the required levels of maintenance for the meter. Among many advantages, the USP of the FUT 1010 is the savings in maintenance required are significant and can help increase the productivity and improve the operational efficiency of a site with less need for downtime or interruption of processes.
