BHEL a public sector entity is Indias largest manufacturer of power equipment especially in the BTG(Boiler, Turbine and generator). About 55GW of generation capacity is expected to be added in India during the 11thplan entailing an investment of INR6,60,000crore. Of this 65% will be spent on thermal power plants, this is a positive for BHEL as its strength lies in coal based power plants.In the 12th five year plan, it is expected that about INR14,60,000crore will be spent on the power sector of which INR8,20,000crore will be mandatory order spent on public sector. BHEL is thus likely to be a key beneficiary of higher investment in the power sector in the oming years. BHEL currently possesses capacity to manufacture
